Cobia Fishing

Call of the Cobia

There are not many things in life I would rather do than cobia fishing. Sight casting at a large fish from a moving platform is challenging, exciting, and rewarding. I am extremely passionate about it and enjoy sharing this passion. My main goal and passion is for you to see and hook your own fish. As a guide it is the ultimate measure of my success. Cobia fishing is one of the most sought after forms of fishing on the Outer Banks for a reason. Come catch some cobia with DOA Charters.

If this is for you…

there a few things to keep in mind: Cobia are migratory. Although they can be targeted out of Oregon Inlet all summer long the peak time for them is from mid-May until mid-June. As with all sight fishing the more sun the better. I do not book any ½ day trips to cobia fish. Some days it takes a while to locate them and we may have to travel long distances to find them. Therefore, at the minimum I only accept ¾ day trips and prefer full day trips.

I dare say, once you cast and hook your own 50lber you will say it’s worth it.
